What does the Quran say about Figs & Olive- Allaah speaks about the fig in the Qur’aan when He says, “By the fig and the olive”. [Surah Teen, verse 1] By taking an oath on the fig, Allaah is highlighting its importance. Allaama Ibn Qayyim (rh) writes that it contains more nutrition that fruits and is beneficial for conditions relating to the chest, the throat and breathing. It is also effective in eradicating phlegm. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is said to have been fond of figs. Within the Hadith, Sahih al-Bukhari records Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stating: “If I had to mention a fruit that descended from paradise, I would say this is it because the paradisiacal fruits do not have pits eat from these fruits for they prevent hemorrhoids, prevent piles and help gout. Fig- Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised the use of figs to treat piles and joint pains.

What does the Quran say about Olive
Olive and its tree has been mentioned a number of times both in the Quran and hadith. Olive is considered a “blessed” fruit in Islam and apart from it being a good source of nutrition, it is also used as a health food and has its usage in “ruqyah treatment.”
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“Eat olive oil and use it on your hair and skin, for it comes from a blessed tree.” (al-Tirmidhi, 1775)
Treatment for Leprosy
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Eat olive oil and apply it to the body because it is a cure for seventy diseases, leprosy being one of them.”
